Parametric EQ

How many of you guys use parametric EQ's ?

I've got an old SAE that's been just sitting there for years. Haven't hooked it up in awhile, but it should work fine. After looking at the frequency response curves for the 210, makes me wonder if it might be time to bring it out....

I've used them for many years. Actually have parametric on my Yamaha preamp. You can dial in and tweak much easier than a graphic eq.

We prefered then in some of the pro sound installations. But graphic is cheaper and that's what got installed most of the time.

Parametrics are a great tool if you have a oddball frequency to work, and you can choose wide or narrow filter width, so your adjustment can be a narrow as a notch filter, or very broad!

I also know of some pro installs where the system has 1/3 octave graphic room EQ,s, and an additional parametric on the subwoofer system alone, allowing the engineer to have extremely fine tuning of subs, or dialing in a special response curve!
